Lawrence Hughes

Lawrence is an accomplished senior executive with over 20 years of management experience in Human Resources and Operations.

Throughout his career, Lawrence has established a proven record of developing Human Resources strategies and policies including Employee Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Recruitment, and Training.

Most recently he exhibited these skills as Vice President, Human Resources for West 49 Inc., Canada’s leading multi-banner action sports retailer.

Previous to West 49 Inc., Lawrence was Director, Human Resources with Rogers Communications Inc. where he was the HR Lead on the Integration Team of Sprint Canada. He also led the HR Department at Roots Canada Limited, as Director, Human Resources. Lawrence began his HR career with Dylex Limited as Senior Manager, Human Resources.

His distinguished HR career was preceded by 10 plus years of Store Operations experience with the Hudson’s Bay Company where he was Regional Operations Manager for Zellers as well as held numerous Store Management positions throughout his tenure.
